Cookie Policy
This is a translation of the Dutch text. In case of any difference in interpretation, the Dutch version prevails.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer, tablet or smartphone when you visit our website. We also use similar technologies such as pixels, tags and scripts. These ensure that the website functions properly, that we can analyse its use and that we can show relevant advertisements.
2. Types of cookies we use
- Functional cookies: necessary for the website to work, such as storing products in your shopping cart.
- Analytical cookies: provide insight into website usage. For this we use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity. In doing so, Microsoft Clarity captures usage statistics and session recordings, such as clicks, scrolling and mouse movements. Both are loaded via our Google Tag Manager container and only after you have given consent for analytical cookies. This data is anonymised where possible.
- Marketing cookies: we do not currently place any marketing or advertising cookies and do not use any advertising or remarketing partners. The cookie banner does have a Marketing category, so that your choice is already recorded in case we ever start using them; as long as nothing is running, that choice changes nothing. Should we start using them, we will name them here before they are put into operation.
- Performance measurements of the website fall under the analytical cookies above; we do not use separate parties for this.
3. Retention periods
- Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser.
- Persistent cookies may remain active for up to 24 months, unless you delete them earlier.
4. Legal basis for processing
- Functional cookies: legitimate interest.
- Analytical & marketing cookies: only with your consent via the cookie banner.
5. Consent and cookie management
On your first visit, we ask for your preferences via the cookie banner. You can subsequently adjust or withdraw your consent at any time via the Cookie preferences link at the bottom of every page - on the Dutch-language site this link is called Cookievoorkeuren. It reopens the banner with your current choice filled in; with the Necessary only button you withdraw your consent in one go. When you withdraw your consent, the page reloads, so that the measurement scripts already loaded disappear immediately. In addition, you can always delete or block cookies via your browser settings.
6. Opt-out options
- Withdraw your consent via the Cookie preferences link at the bottom of every page. This is the quickest route: the banner reopens and with Necessary only you stop the analytical cookies immediately.
- Delete or block cookies via your browser settings.
- Additional privacy settings with the two services we use: Google (for Google Analytics) and Microsoft (for Clarity).
7. Do Not Track
Our website does not currently recognise the Do Not Track signal from browsers. You can always adjust your cookie settings.
8. Data transfers outside the EU
Some third parties process data outside the European Economic Area. We ensure that this takes place within the GDPR framework (including standard contractual clauses).
9. Changes to this policy
Ridgefront Gear may amend this cookie policy periodically. Please consult this page regularly.
